The World and European championships are organized by FIDE and ECU respectively. However, the WSGWA Require some explanation. So let me introduce the CSIT – the International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation to you.

CSIT as an international multi-sports organization has been founded in 1913 in Belgium and was based on the historic ideas of the international labor movement. Nowadays the main activities are organizing sports events for amateurs & workers, competitive & non-competitive, for young & old, men & women, from all over the world; welcoming CSIT members, non-member organizations, cooperation partners, governmental bodies, trade unions and business companies with sports activities for employees worldwide.

Within the world of international sport, CSIT maintains its support for everyone to benefit from sporting activities regardless of their qualifications, talent, nationality, age, sex and social circumstances.        http://www.csit.tv/en

For many years Chess has been one of the most favorable sports of CSIT, holding every year the CSIT Chess Championships – team championships in odd years and individual championships in even years. The Chairman of the Chess Technical Commission of CSIT since the seventies of the last century was the late IM Joaquim Durao (POR) and the writer of this newsletter had the honor to replace him in 2011. The Secretary of the Commission is IA Markku Kosonen (FIN).

– Riga, Latvia –

I would like to invite every chess player in the world who considers himself/herself as a worker and/or an amateur to take part in the CSIT Chess Team Championship that will take place in the city of Riga, Latvia, from June 13th through June 18th, 2017 within the framework of the World Sports Games. The general invitation for the WSG is here  and the chess regulations are here.

The deadline for the preliminary registration is February 15th, 2017 and the deadline for the definite entry is May 7th, 2017.

If you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact me through email (almogbu@walla.com) or telephone (+972544979447).

Now, allow me to tell you about an exciting new Israeli chess program that is not only analyzing chess positions but also explains them. Instead of the custom “best-variation/evaluation” that the chess engines supply, this program analyses the position in an educational way like a human chess tutor. Thus a player can enter a position from his own games and get a high level analysis which reveals the ideas behind the recommended moves.
This capability adds a new dimension to computer chess intelligence and enables the masses of enthusiastic chess players to enjoy chess tutoring of their own games. It drastically improves their chess playing abilities and understanding. The product aims to assist mostly players whose ratings are 1400-2200, as well as their chess teachers/instructors/trainers.
The product’s website is decodechess.com and the web application is app.decodechess.com.  Please try and if you need more details, you are invited to approach me through email (almogbu@walla.com) or telephone (+972544979447).
Any comments or suggestions relating to the content of this newsletter will be very much welcomed.
I ask you kindly to forward this newsletter to your friends, colleagues, members of your federation/club etc.

With Best regards,
