Rate of Play: 5 rounds, all moves in 15 minutes with 10 seconds per move added from move 1

 

Byes: A player may claim up to 2 half point byes in the first three rounds only.

 

Severe Weather: In the event of severe weather we will place a notice on the Welsh Chess Union Website

( www.welshchessunion.uk ) on this website, and also attempt to contact all entries by email. Thus an email address is essential when entering.

Junior Qualification Rules

a) Birth in Wales

b) Child of a person who was born in Wales

c) Residence in Wales for at least two years immediately prior to the event.

d) Throughout the period of six months immediately before the event attendance as a student at a school in Wales

e) Represented the Welsh Chess Union in a Junior International event

 

Section Qualification

Under 14: Born 2011 or later

Under 12: Born 2013 or later

Under 10: Born 2015 or later

Under 8:   Born 2017 or later
