Qualification Rules

Entrants must be Welsh qualified in at least one of the following ways:

a) Birth in Wales

b) Child of a person who was born in Wales

c) Ten years consecutive residence in Wales at any time prior to the event

d) Residence in Wales for at least six months immediately prior to the event.

e) Throughout the period of six months immediately before the event attendance as a student at a school of establishment of further or higher education in Wales

f) Represented the Welsh Chess Union in a Junior International event

 

For U14s the entrant must be born in 2008 or later

For U12s the entrant must be born in 2010 or later.

For U10s the entrant must be born in 2012 or later

For U8s the entrant must be born in 2014 or later

Entry Fees and Prizes

All Sections:

Entry Fee: £15

Trophies will be awarded to the first three players in each section

Playing Regulations

Rate of Play: 5 Rounds, all moves in 15 minutes with a 10 second increment per move from move 1

 

Rounds: Round 1 will start at 10:30am.

 

Byes: A player may claim up to 2 half point byes in the first three rounds only.

 

Late Arrivals: All players will be allowed 15 minutes on their clocks in any round and then defaulted.
