The British Chess Championships offers qualifying places for the top male and female from the Welsh Closed section.

Entries close at 10pm on Wed 1st April 2026

First round pairings will be published on chess-results on Thursday Apr 2nd at 19:30

Additional Prizes
Welsh Ladies and U21	The Welsh Women’s and Under 21 Champions will have the highest score in the Championship with a minimum of at least one drawn game. If there is no winner from the Championship, this requirement will apply to the Open Players completing for the Under 21 Championship must be born 2005 or later. Further prizes may be announced at the Championships
