Rate of play
5 rounds, all moves in 15 minutes with 10 seconds per move added from move 1.
Byes
A player may claim up to 2 half-point byes, in the first three rounds only. Any first-round bye must be claimed at the time of entry.

Welsh qualification
All players must be Welsh qualified in at least one of the following ways:
- Birth in Wales
- Child of a person who was born in Wales
- Residence in Wales for at least two years immediately prior to the event
- Attendance, throughout the six months immediately before the event, as a student at a school in Wales
- Represented the Welsh Chess Union in a Junior International event
Severe weather
In the event of severe weather a notice will be placed on the Welsh Chess Union website (www.welshchessunion.uk) and on this site, and we will attempt to contact all entrants by email. A valid email address is therefore essential when entering.
