Welcome
The West Wales Chess Congress returns to Pontlliw for its 57th year: five rounds over a weekend, three sections, and every game FIDE rated.
The congress is open to any FIDE-registered member of the Welsh Chess Union or of another national federation. If you don't have a FIDE ID yet, that is easily fixed — see Regulations for how to get one before the congress.
Sections and entry fees

| Major (Under 1900) | £28.00 | Prizes: 1st £240, 2nd £130, 3rd £70. A grading prize or prizes will be awarded if entry numbers allow. Ungraded players must consult the Congress Secretary before entering this section. |
| Minor (Under 1700) | £25.00 | Prizes: 1st £200, 2nd £100, 3rd £60. A grading prize or prizes will be awarded if entry numbers allow. Ungraded players must consult the Congress Secretary before entering this section. |
Junior prizes across the congress: best under 18 £70, best under 14 £60, best under 10 £50.

All moves in 90 minutes, with a 30 second cumulative increment from move one. A half-point bye may be requested in any of the first four rounds, if asked for with your entry.

Entries are preferred through the online entry form. Entries are also accepted by post to the Congress Secretary at the address on the confirmation page.
