Castell Nedd Haloween Pizza Party

Another successful year with the Cast Halloween Pizza Party! The junior members turned up to enjoy an evening filled with decorations, costumes, Halloween games — and, of course, chess. There were some wonderful contributions that made the event extra special. Ocean’s grandmother, Marion, baked 30 Halloween-themed cupcakes, while Cae brought along some of his homemade lemonade, the same beverage he sells at fairs and fêtes. Impressively, Cae has even developed business plans and consulted an accountant to help turn his small home education enterprise into a real venture.
From our youngest member, Vedh (6 years old), to our eldest, Antonio (14) — who’s on the verge of joining the adult club — everyone enjoyed the pizza, games, and festive atmosphere. I always find it amazing to see the kids drifting away from the Halloween activities to play chess, proving once again that the game can compete with any other form of entertainment. A big thank-you goes to Nicola Robinson for helping with the setup — decorating a room in just 20 minutes is no small task!

Now in its third year running, the Castell Nedd Halloween Pizza Party has become a much-loved tradition, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again in 2026.
