The Management board has just been informed that Hazel Brunker passed away in June 2025,
Hazel won the Women’s Welsh Championship seven times (in 1970, 1972, 1973, 1982, 1985, 1989 and 1990.
She also represented Wales in the 1980 Welsh Women’s team that competed in the 1980 Chess Olympiad.
The Management Board wish to send Hazel’s relatives and friends our deepest condolences on their sad loss.
