Cardiff and the Vale Schools Championships 2017

The Annual individual junior championships for Cardiff and the Vale schoolchildren took place at Cardiff City Council Offices on 12th February. For many years the Championships have been supported by Cardiff City Council, allowing the use of the prestigious venue. This event is now seen as one of the highlights of the chess calendar.

The Championships are also supported by Cardiff Bay Rotary Club who has provided the trophies for the prizewinners.

We thank both Cardiff City Council and Cardiff Bay Rotary Club for their continued support of these Championships.

This year there was a special surprise to begin the prizegiving ceremony with the President of the Cardiff Bay Rotary Club awarding Hugh Price with the Paul Harris Fellowship. Hugh received the Fellowship certificate and a gold pin.
