It is with great sadness that the WCU has learned that Steve Cunliffe has passed away.
After a short illness Steve passed away suddenly at University of Wales Hospital. Steve played chess for Barry Chess Club for many years and is the current Barry Chess Club Championship winner. He was a popular member of the chess club and his presence will be sorely missed.
The WCU would like to express our sincere condolences to Steve’s family and friends at this very sad time.
His funeral will be held on June 2nd, 11am at Barry Crematorium.
Family flowers only at the funeral with a collection for Diabetes UK. Afterwards there will be a wake at the Cherry Orchard pub in Barry Road.
