The Welsh Chess Premier League commenced on 4th November with three very close matches all ending with the score 3.5/2.5.
Cardigan produced a very strong top board clean sweep to beat Nidum.
Cardiff beat the new team, The Full Ponty, thanks to wins for Alex Bullen and Tom Brown.
Finally, Abergavenny came away from Llanelli with a victory due to a greater strength on the lower boards.
The closeness of the results indicates that it could be a very exciting tournament this year.–
