Welsh Junior Championships 2018: Week-end one results

At the first week-end of the Welsh Junior Chess Championships, held at Chepstow School on 24-25 February, Susana Fraser and Ifan Rathbone-Jones shared the Under 14 title, Ellison Smith won the under 12s, Sridatta Dantu and Ben Jaberansari shared the under 10s and Govind Anandkumar won the under 8s.

Lord Greg Mostyn WCU Patron

Today, the Welsh Chess Union has the great pleasure to announce that Lord Greg Mostyn has agreed to become a patron of the Welsh Chess Union.

We look forward to working with him and to meeting him at events around Wales.

GM Matthew Turner dominates the Dyfed Congress

At the Dyfed Congress, taking place at Fishguard Hotel over February 16-18, GM Matthew Tuner won the Open section and the Saturday evening Blitz competitions with perfect scores.

Glorney Gilbert Tournament 2018: 16-18 July

The dates for 2018 Glorney Gilbert Tournament have now been finalised: it will be held at the University of the West of Scotland, Paisley, from 16th to 18th of July, with travelling on the 15th and 19th.
